North Carolina Probate and Estate Administration Lawyers

Our Charlotte estate planning and probate attorneys are North Carolina Board Certified Specialists in Estate Planning and Probate Law - a distinguished designation by the North Carolina Bar Association held by a small percentage of all attorneys.  We believe that being a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law demonstrates a personal commitment to the practice of law and the mastery of estate planning, probate law, tax law and related areas.

Let our more than 85 years of combined legal experience in North Carolina probate law and estate administration work for you.  Whether preparing estate inventories and court filings, advising on creditor claims, estate taxes, income taxes or gift taxes, distributions to beneficiaries and heirs, or estate litigation,  our team of probate attorneys, paralegals and administrative assistants can advise you and provide you with professional and competent estate administration services.

It is important to keep in mind that not all estate assets are subject to the probate process.  Assets that have designated beneficiaries, for example, life insurance, annuities, retirement accounts and bank accounts or POD (payable on death) accounts all avoid probate in the sense that they are not listed as assets on the inventories at the at the courthouse, but may be subject to creditor claims.

Probate and estate administration, regardless of where the assets are "technically probated or not probated" is generally an involved process requires competent legal advice. We strongly encourage you to seek the advise of an experienced probate and estate administration attorney in handling probate matters.
